Pet Adoption Policy
I do NOT adopt out feeder rats.
All rats bred at LOR are hand raised and has had human contact since day one.
All rats will be adopted only in same sex pairs regardless if you have more of the same sex at home. All babies will need to leave with a litter mate or a friend from another litter to keep them company if for some reason your old rats do not agree with your new rats as well as for comfort of being with someone they are familiar with. (Effective January 01, 2012) I do not ship rats.
All pups will be ready for pick up at 12 weeks of age unless stated differently on the litter pages. (Effective January 2013)
I will NOT hold rats more than 7 days past the pick-up date.
If I do not receive the deposit fee within 3 business days of picking out your pups, they will be available to be adopted by some one else.
I MUST to be kept updated on all of our rats from LOR.
The "Where are they now?" form located on the testimonials page and at the bottom of the polices page will need to be filled out once every 6 months or as needed while you care for rats from LOR. It is your responsibility as the owner to do this. If you can't keep up with it I have the right to request the rats back and if you do not comply I have the right to come and get them. (Effective: 01-30-2012)
Please contact me if you have any more questions.
Nothing is final until you talk to me first.
I have the right to turn down any adoption if I do not feel it would be in the best interest of the rat/s.
I do NOT adopt out to breeders I do not know. I'd like to have a relationship with you. I am currently not adopting out to any breeders at this time (2012).
If you are a breeder you must be 18 or older to adopt from LOR.
You need 3 personal references from other breeders and a vet reference. (I WILL call and check)
Must have your own webpage. If you have a testimonials page 3 references MAY NOT be requited.
Must have a active rattery for 2+ years.
We do have a contract. ALL breeders will sign this contract if you wish to get a rat from LOR
